About Company

Our Story

My name is James Jacobs, President and CEO of Hays Cares, a 501C3 Non-
Profit organization with a mission to inspire hope by providing resources,
education, and economic opportunities for the underserved children and
families of Hay County. Hays cares was birth out of a desire to bring a sense of
compassion and concern about the needs of our community and
surrounding area. The vision of Hays Cares is to bring the message of hope,
love, and inspiration to people of all ages in the Hays County area.
Each year, we host a community event to provide over 300 children of Hays
County with the essential need of a pair of shoes as they return to school. At
the event, volunteers spend time with shoe recipients by washing their feet,
and placing a new pair of socks and athletic shoes on each student’s feet
while offering encouragement and hope.

Our Community Partners -San Marcos police Department; unforgettable
families and friends; Kiwanis Club Kyle-Buda; Homes With Hall Realty; 105
Publishing; Hays Latinos United; Austin Automotive Specialists; H‑E‑B: and Word
Of Life Christian Faith Center: provides free food, backpacks, school supplies,
health information, and education opportunities to improve the lives of
underserved children and families of our community.

This annual community event takes place the last Saturday in July from 10 am
to 2 pm at a to-be-determined location in Hays County. Our goal is to bring
kindness and hope to all the children and families of Hays County.

We partner with 'ACCESS NETWORK (Association of Collaborative Communities Equipping Youth for STEEAAM Success) to demonstrate the importance of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics ) and to host a virtual STEM Coding camp in the summer.

Each year, Hays Cares provides the county residents with a free turkey at Thanksgiving. Our Turkey Giveaway is powered by donations from private donations and our gracious community partners.
